Getting Dressed at Before March.

Anyone who has visited Francie stockist Before March knows that it is home to not only beautiful things, but a beautiful approach to getting dressed.

Stylist and founder Melissa Mikletic shares our love for testing how many ways something can be worn. Pushing pieces to be more useful or more beautiful by trying reversing, folding, tying, or rebuttoning in different ways.

" The fun of dressing someone I’ve really only just met is in the quick study of them, informed by a few pieces I’ve asked them to bring from home. I have a pet peeve of fashion imagery where the subject looks inauthentic in the clothes, like they just wouldn’t wear them.

These casual pics are a joint investigation of how my muse would approach a garment they’ve just encountered with pieces they’re familiar with. I want them to look like themselves, the clothes are in service to the individual, not the inverse."

"Once we’ve loosened up, I’m usually on the ground and we tend to enter a game of 'deranged good?'. Buttons go askew, combinations get zanier and we feel a little inspired by our joint delirium."

"My idea of a good time. Getting to know someone through the act of dressing them."
